Meal Plan Monday -I’m back!
Such a great break from media. 5 out of 5 stars. I don’t know who needs to hear this but the world’s problems don’t need to be in our houses every day. We need to keep our wits about us. My grandpa used to say that if we were acting scattered “Keep your wits about you, child .”
If there was ever a time to keep our wits about us, it’s now.
So how do we attempt to do that?
There is a small portion of me when I think of all the overwhelming tasks, thoughts, injustices, discrimination and unkindnesses in the world, could lay my head down and weep. And I know many of you are feeling the same way.
But before we do that…… let’s eat.

This meal plan is representative of more then just our meals. It is representative of an overreaching desire in my life to infuse love, nourishment and goodness into our house. But what if I decided to meal plan for a year? Crazy talk. Who wouldn’t be overwhelmed by that task? By breaking it down into 52 weekly meal plans that I prepare on Sunday night based on what’s in my freezer and what’s in season, I can make good decisions in my sphere of influence. I can decide how to feed my family, nourish our bodies and souls, stay healthy physically , mentally and spiritually. And does that mean I don’t get overwhelmed from time to time ? Um, no. I’ve lost my wits more than once over time. I had to put an elderly chicken down the other day, and I sobbed like I had lost my whole flock.

But it does mean I’ve tried my very darndest to do my very best within my four walls that I can. I believe that’s all any of us want to do. And it does mean I can give a lot of grace to myself when I lose my focus.
Theres’s a realm of concern that’s rather large and out of our control but there’s also a smaller sphere and that’s our realm of influence. That’s what we need to try to focus our energy on.
Stay well my friends.
Love ,
Jenn xx
