The older I get, the more I believe in miracles.

The miracle of babies being born without intervention or challenges. Of going out to the barn in the morning and there being a lamb there that wasn’t there the night before, suckling its mama. Instinctively knowing what to do. The appreciation of this comes from being acutely aware what happens when it doesn’t go the way it’s supposed to, from the experience of lambing being far from miraculous.

The miracle of teenagers  making it through their teenage years alive and healthy, learning from their mistakes and healthy. Perhaps even getting their own home, although them affording to move out may be considered miraculous nowadays too, with the current housing situation.

The miracle of dying. A woman so accepting of her journey to heaven, having lived a life full of love, resilience and joy, completely at peace with her aging body as she slips away, surrounded by her loved ones. Loved ones who don’t see her death as a trauma to get over but part of the natural cycle of life. No different than a leaf falling from a tree in autumn.

The miracle of a seed. A gift full of potential waiting for us to nurture it, protect it and seeing where it fits.

I don’t think the miracle is in the perfection of these actions. For surely perfection can be found in many forms and I don’t think God makes mistakes really.

I think the miracle is in resilience.

The miracle is in our ability to withstand the trials and tribulations of this world and still persevere.

For us to not lose faith in our place here; For two things to be true at once and that be OKAY,

To love and miss someone but be at peace with them leaving ( and know you need help when you can’t get there on your own).;

To realize disappoint this way comes when we focus only on our expectations of life or lambing ;

For us not to think we can Google ourselves out of hard things-Google has its place but it is no shoulder to cry on and won’t help you dry your tears;

When to realize the only way through something is through it.

Just understanding all this is miraculous.

Love Jenn xx
