Chicken Rub

I’ve marinated this in yogurt, drained then rubbed with olive oil and tossed with a few tbsps of rub

We use this on all meat, not just chicken. It’s very versatile. I also mix it into the batter for fried chicken-delish!

Makes approximately 2 cups and stores in an airtight container for 6 months.

A little bacon grease under the skin on the breast and this rub on top makes for the most delicious, succulent chicken.
  • 1/3 cup good quality sea salt
  • 1/3 cup dried sage
  • 1/3 cup garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup onion powder
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 3 Tbsps pepper
  • 3 Tbsps dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp cayenne pepper powder
  • Mix together and store in an airtight container.
Makes a wonderful rub after a yogurt marinade for our homegrown chicken legs
I love to use my grandmothers old mason jars for storing dry goods like this rub.
